Theresa Smith Killed in Fatal Clay County Pedestrian Crash on Highway 92
Clay County, Missouri (January 12, 2018) – A 33-year-old Liberty woman was fatally hit by a vehicle late Wednesday night in Clay County, according to MSHP report.
The crash occurred at around 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, on Highway 92 just west of Route RA, near Watkins Mill.
Troopers said Theresa M. Smith, 33, of Liberty, was walking down the center of Highway 92 when she was struck by a 2012 Ford, driven westbound by Nicole M. Shields, 40, of Kearney.
Smith suffered major injuries and was rushed to Liberty Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
No other injuries were reported.
Shields’ vehicle was driven from the scene with minor damage.
