Ronald Stewart, 77, Michael Platt, 39, Injured in 2-Car Crash at Ridge Road and Holt Road in Minooka
Minooka, Illinois (January 12, 2018) – A two-vehicle collision Thursday afternoon just north of Minooka left two people with injuries, as per a news release from Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies.
The incident happened at around 2:30 p.m. Thursday, January 11, at the intersection of Ridge Road and Holt Road in Minooka.
According to the deputies, Ronald Stewart, 77, of Channahon, was trying to make a left turn from Holt Road onto Ridge Road when he failed to yield at a stop intersection and crashed with a car driven by Michael Platt, 39, of Montgomery, north on Ridge Road.
Stewart and Platt were both taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the collision, officials said.
Authorities said the two drivers were cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Steward was cited for also failing to yield at a stop intersection while turning left.
