On Saturday, September 15, Amanda Springer, a 35-year old resident of Stover, was badly injured in a car accident on MO-52 in Morgan county.
The accident occurred at approximately 11 AM when Richard Watts, 45, of Dover, struck the vehicle Ms. Springer was driving from behind as she sat waiting to execute a turn. Both vehicles suffered significant damage, and both had to be towed from the scene by a local wrecker service.
According to the official crash report Ms. Springer suffered moderate injury and had to be transported to Capital Region Hospital via the Morgan county ambulance service for further observation and treatment. Mr. Watts also suffered moderate injury and also had to be transported by EMS to Capital Region Hospital. Investigators believe both parties were wearing their safety belts at the time of the incident.
No criminal charges have been brought against either party.
