Paul Jehlik Dies after Being Hit by 2 Vehicles on I-294 near Burr Ridge
Burr Ridge, Illinois (February 3, 2018) – A 46-year-old Glen Ellyn man succumbed to injuries following a collision Wednesday morning on Interstate 294, according to a news release from Illinois State Police.
The accident took place at around 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 31, on I-294 near Burr Ridge.
Illinois state police stated that Paul M. Jehlik was operating driving a Dodge Ram pickup truck north on I-294 near Burr Ridge when his truck struck the guardrail on the right side of the tollway.
The state police said that Jehlik then got out of his truck and for unknown reasons ran into traffic when he was hit by two northbound vehicles, a Freightliner semi-trailer truck, and an International box truck.
Jehlik sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to La Grange Hospital for treatment where he succumbed to injuries Thursday morning.
