Nolan Pennewell among Three Injured in Semi-Truck Accident with Car on U.S. Highway 36 in Monroe County
Nolan Pennewell, Michael Pribble and Deborah Durando Injured in Monroe Car Crash with Semi-Truck on US-36
Monroe City, Missouri (March 4, 2018) – A crash involving a semi-truck and a car sent three people to a hospital on Saturday evening in Monroe County, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The wreck happened on U.S. Highway 36 just east of Monroe City at around 5:39 p.m. Saturday, March 3.
According to troopers, 17-year-old Nolan M. Pennewell of Monroe City was the driver of a 1997 Dodge Ram when he attempted to cross U.S. 36 and struck the towed unit of a 2015 Freightliner truck, driven eastbound by 59-year-old Michael G. Pribble of Coello, Illinois.
The trailer of the truck lost its axles and overturned shortly after the crash.
Pribble and Pennewell were seriously hurt. Pribble’s wife, 56-year-old Deborah A. Durando also of Coello, Illinois, was a passenger in his truck and suffered minor injuries. The three were transported to Hannibal Regional Hospital.
Troopers said all occupants of the two vehicles were not wearing their safety belts.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene with total damage.
