Clay County, Missouri (January 17, 2018) – A crash between a car and a semi-truck left two people hospitalized on Wednesday morning in Clay County, according to State Troopers.

The wreck took place at around 7:45 a.m. on Interstate 35 at Mile Marker 22.8.

MSHP said a 2007 Cadillac traveling southbound on Interstate 35 attempted to overtake a 2017 Freightliner and its front collided with the rear of the semi-truck.

The driver of the Cadillac, 62-year-old Connie L. Querry of Bethany and her passenger, 66-year-old Michael E. Querry of New Hampton, were both taken to Liberty Hospital with moderate injuries. Both were not wearing their seatbelts, troopers said.

The driver of the Freightliner, 52-year-old Carlton O. Coleman of Parsons, Kansas, was wearing a seatbelt and was unhurt in the crash.

The Cadillac was towed from the scene by Liberty Tow with total damage.
