Mayra Rivera Killed in Head-On Crash at Ridgeland and Ogden Avenue in Berwyn
Berwyn, Illinois (March 7, 2018) – The single mother who was killed in a head-on collision early Tuesday morning with a high-speed driver has been identified as 25-year-old Mayra Rivera, according to authorities.
The deadly wreck took place at around 3 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, near Ridgeland and Ogden Avenues.
Authorities said a 29-year-old man driving a white Nissan at a higher rate of speed crossed the center line and struck a black Pontiac driven west on Ogden Avenue by Rivera, who was on her way to work.
The mother of a 6-year-old boy was declared dead at the scene, police said.
The male driver of the Nissan and his female passenger were both transported to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
