On Sunday, September 2, 55-year old Rodney Vantellman and 52-year old Kindra Workman, both of King City, MO, were injured in a multi-car traffic accident on US-169 in Dekalb County.
The accident occurred at approximately 3:30 PM during a period of particularly inclement weather. The incident began when Ms. Workman’s Chevy Cobalt hydroplaned, causing it to cross the center line and collide with Mr. Vantellman’s Dodge Caravan head on.
According to the official crash report, all parties were wearing their safety belts at the time of the incident. Despite this, both parties suffered significant injury and had to be transported via Grand River EMS to area hospitals for further observation and treatment.
Both parties were later released without incident.
No other drivers or occupants were injured in the accident.
