On Wednesday, August 15, Justin Edwards and Bradley Pingel, were both injured in a traffic accident involving multiple 18-wheelers and a U-Haul truck on I-70, in Montgomery County.
The accident began at approximately 6:45 PM when a big-rig driven by Justin Edwards, 37, of Imperial, MO, struck a vehicle operated by Joan Beck which in turn forced Ms. Beck to strike the vehicle in front of her–an 18-wheeler operated by Wayne Winkler, of Senecam, KS.
Mr. Winkler’s vehicle then struck Mr. Pingel’s U-Haul, which in turn collided with another 18-wheeler, this one operated by Mr. Jesse Spurgeon, of Owensville.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Edwards and Pingel both suffered injury and had to be transported to area hospitals for further medical treatment, and all of the vehicles involved in the incident sustained signficant damage.
Both injured parties appear to have been wearing their safety belts at the time of the collision, and no other parties were injured in the course of the incident.
