Two Drivers, Jose Rodriguez and Falynn Hironimus, Killed in a McHenry County Collision on Route 47 in Hebron
McHenry County, Illinois (January 16, 2018) – Authorities have identified the Marengo man and Hebron woman who were killed in a two-vehicle collision Sunday afternoon in Hebron as 42-year-old Jose Rodriguez, of Marengo and 29-year-old Falynn M. Hironimus, 29, of Hebron.
The deadly collision took place at around 4:20 p.m. Sunday, in the 7400 block of Route 47 in Hebron, between O’Brien and Thayer roads, McHenry County.
According to a preliminary report, Hironimus was driving a 2009 Kia Rio north when for unknown reasons, she crossed into the southbound lane of traffic and slammed into a 2005 Chevy Impala driven by Rodriguez and which had airbag deployed.
The two drivers were declared deceased at the scene.
An autopsy to determine the cause of Rodriguez and Hironimus death has been scheduled on Tuesday afternoon.
The Chevy Impala had three other occupants, a 39-year-old woman, a 12-year-old girl and a 9-year-old girl, all from Marengo. The 39- and 12-year-old females were transported to Centegra Hospital in McHenry in critical condition and later taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, police said.
The 9-year-old girl was taken to Centegra Hospital in Huntley in stable condition, according to a police report.
Details regarding the identity of the injured victims were not yet available.
Hironimus, Rodriguez, and the 39-year-old were wearing seatbelts at the time of crash while 12-year-old and 9-year-old were not in a safety device, police said.
The collision led to close down of Route 47 from Vanderkarr Road in Hebron to Thayer Road for hours as a result of the crash.
An investigation into the deadly crash is still underway.
