New Baden Woman Jean Winters Fatally Struck by Car on Illinois 177 in Washington County
Washington County, Illinois (January 31, 2018) – According to a local news source, Jean D. Winters, a 40-year-old New Baden woman, was hit and killed by a car Wednesday morning in Washington County.
The crash took place at about 5:00 a.m. Jan 31, on Illinois 177 near Prairie Bottom Road, west of Okawville.
As per the reports, Winters was walking westbound in the eastbound lane when she was struck by a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt, driven by Scott Moffatt, 36, of Okawville.
Reportedly, Moffatt was driving westbound 177 and was passing a westbound car when he struck and Winters.
Illinois 177 was shut down as officers investigated the crash.
No other information was provided. The incident remained under investigation.
