Driver Injured in After Two Semi-Trucks Collide on I-90 in Rockford
Kendall County, Illinois (January 2, 2018) – Six people were hospitalized following a two-vehicle wreck on Galena Road in Little Rock Township on Christmas day, according to Kendall County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident took place in the 13000 block of Galena Road north of Plano at around 3:31 p.m. on Monday, December 25.
Police Said Savaughn Strickland, 32, of Aurora was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer westbound on Galena Road when the vehicle collided with a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer being driven by Janice S. Armstrong, 80, of Aurora.
Strickland was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in critical condition.
Two passengers in Strickland’s vehicle, Douglas Duffy, 58, of Sandwich and Ashley Robinson, 27, of Aurora, were taken to Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora and later airlifted to Loyola Medical Center Maywood with critical injuries.
A third passenger in Strickland’s vehicle, an 8-year-old Aurora girl was transported to Valley West Hospital in Sandwich
Armstrong was flown to Good Samaritan Hospital in critical condition. A passenger in her vehicle, Cassie Armstrong, 55, was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
Strickland was cited for improper lane use, driving with a revoked license, failure to reduce speed to avoid a collision and driving a vehicle without insurance.
