Elaine and Mathew Hamilton injured in Mississippi county crash

In the early evening hours of Thursday, June 14, Elaine and Mathew Hamilton of Atwood, OK, were both injured in a traffic accident on I-57 in Mississippi county. The incident began at approximately 7 pm when a truck operated by Martin Shaw, of Bertrand, MO, attempted to execute an illegal turn, causing the Hamiltons to run into him from behind. Mr. Shaw fled the scene before authorities could arrive. Both Hamiltons suffered significant injury and had to be immediately transported to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau for further observation and treatment.

A traffic accident can be a painful and traumatic experience. We at the law offices of Kevin J. Roach wish the Hamiltons a quick and thorough recovery.

The Legal Claims

Missouri offers a complex but effective system of personal injury law meant to protect persons who have been injured through the negligent acts of other parties. Here, Mr. Shaw was at fault and both injured persons will be entitled to compensation for any lost wages, pain and suffering, property damage, and any medical bills incurred as a result of the accident.
