On Saturday, September 29, 55-year old Diana Holmes and 65-year old Kevin Neel were both injured in a multi-car accident on Route Y at the Route W intersection in Morgan County. Aaron Powell, Christopher Powell, and Bryant Ray, 3 minor children who were riding as Mr. Neel’s passengers, were all also injured.
The accident occurred at approximately 5:10 PM when Mr. Neel failed to stop at a stop sign and was struck by Ms. Holmes as she crossed the intersection.
According to the official crash report Ms. Holmes suffered serious, life threatening injury, and had to be flown by emergency helicopter to University Hospital via LifeFlight. Mr. Neel suffered moderate injuries and had to be transported to Lake Regional Hospital for further observation and treatment. The three children suffered minor injuries and were all taken to Lake Regional Hospital as a precautionary measure.
Both cars suffered extensive damage and had to be removed from the scene.
