On Wednesday, September 5, 46-year-old Deejay Singh of Naperville, Illinois was injured in a crash involving a tractor-trailer on I-88.
The accident began at approximately 6 PM when a big-rig driven by an unidentified driver from Louisville, Kentucky, struck the rear-end of Mr. Singh’s vehicle, causing him to lose control and wreck along the shoulder of the road. Another, unknown, vehicle was also struck–though the driver apparently left before authorities could arrive.
According to the Illinois State Highway Patrol, Mr. Singh had to be taken to Edward Hospital in Naperville. Mr. Singh later thanked area first responders for saving his life.
All parties appear to have been wearing their safety belts at the time of the incident, and the Kentucky driver has been cited for improper lane usage and other traffic offenses.
