Cynthia Hynes, Heather Smith and Laura Sanders Injured in 3-Vehicle Crash at Routes A and Z in Jefferson County
Jefferson County, Missouri (March 6, 2018) – A multi-vehicle collision caused injuries to three people on Sunday night at an intersection in Jefferson County.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Route A and Route Z at around 8:09 p.m. Sunday, March 4.
Laura A. Sanders, 42, of DeSoto, was driving a 2008 Pontiac G6 eastbound on Route A when she failed to yield at the intersection and collided with a 2002 GMC 2500, driven westbound by Cynthia S. Hynes, 44, of Hillsboro.
The impact caused the GMC to travel off the right shoulder of the roadway.
The debris from the collision struck a 2013 Dodge Dart that was being driven by Emily A. Woodland, 26, of Festus and was stopped at the intersection waiting to make a turn from Route Z.
Sanders suffered moderate injuries while her passenger, Heather M. Smith, 17, of Festus, was seriously hurt. They were both transported by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center.
Hynes was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Jefferson with minor injuries.
The Pontiac was totaled while the GMC sustained moderate damage. Woodland’s vehicle was driven from the scene with minor damage.
