St. Louis County, Missouri (February 2, 2018) – A woman and a girl were injured in a crash involving three vehicles on Thursday morning in St. Louis County, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at around 10:35 a.m. Thursday, February 1, on Interstate 70 at Lucas and Hunt.

Troopers said Danielle M. Brady, 31, of St. Louis, was driving a 2016 Hyundai Sonata westbound on I-70 when she drifted to the right in an attempt to avoid a mattress that was in the roadway.

A 1998 Peterbilt tractor was also westbound on I-70 and the driver, Glenn M. Jones, 61, of Spearville, Ks., attempted to avoid a collision with the Hyundai by moving leftwards. As he did so, the front left of the tractor collided with the right side of a 2016 Mazda 3, driven by Crystal R. Gomez, 29, of St. Louis.

The right side of a trailer pulled by Jones’ tractor hit the left back side of the Hyundai.

Brady and her passenger, Brielle M. Brady, 10, of St. Louis, were both taken to SSM Health Depaul Hospital with minor injuries.

No one else was hurt in the accident.

Troopers said all occupants of the three vehicles were wearing their seatbelts.
