Peoria, Illinois (January 29, 2018) — Authorities have identified a  Farmington man who was fatally injured in a 2-vehicle accident on Friday in rural Peoria County as Brandon R. Delatorre, 20, of 598 W. Fort St.

The accident took place at around 7:45 a.m. Friday, January 26, on Plank Road just west of Cameron Lane in Peoria County.

According to a Peoria County Coroner, Delatorre was operating a maroon truck east on Plank Road when he apparently lost control and was broadsided by a red pick-up truck driven westbound.

Delatorre died instantly as a result of the accident, the report said.

The coroner reported that an autopsy Friday to determine the official cause of death of Delatorre revealed that the man suffered fatal, blunt-force injuries to his head and chest.

The driver of the red pickup was taken to a Peoria hospital with injuries that apparently were not life-threatening, the coroner said.

Both vehicles had a single occupant, as per the report.

The coroner said that Delatorre was wearing a seatbelt and that alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the wreck; however, slick road condition seemed a factor in the collision.

The deadly accident remained under an investigation.
