Cairo, Missouri (December 27, 2017) – A collision involving two vehicles north of Cairo Tuesday night sent a 38-year-old Lewistown man to a hospital, the patrol said.

The wreck took place at about 8:22 p.m. Tuesday, on U.S. 63, 3 miles north of Cairo.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, 54-year-old Moberly resident, Kevin D. Gunnerson, was driving a 2009 Ford F150 northbound on U.S. 63, 3 miles north of Cairo. The ford reportedly had no rear lights and was hauling a trailer.

The patrol said Gunnerson’s vehicle was hit in the rear by a 2009 Ford F450 driven by 38-year-old Billy W. Davis, of Lewistown. The collision caused Davis Ford to drive off the road and overturned.

Davis suffered serious injuries in the crash and was taken by Randolph County Ambulance to University Hospital for treatment, authorities said.

The Patrol said Davis was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

No further details on the crash were immediately available.
