On Thursday, June 28, two Walker, MO, residents were injured in a traffic accident on Highway 54 near Nevada, MO.
Betty L. Gooden, 61, and Carrie L. Messick, 40, became involved in the incident when the vehicle they were travelling in was struck from behind as they attempted to make a left hand turn off of the highway.
Whitney Jennings, 30, of Stockton, struck Gooden and Messick from behind, having failed to notice that they were slowing down to execute the turn.
According to the official Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, both women suffered injuries categorized as moderate and had to be transported via EMS to the Nevada Regional Medical Center for further observation and treatment.
All parties were wearing their safety-belts at the time of the crash.
