Englewood, Illinois (March 7, 2018) – Six people were injured when a CTA bus collided with an SUV early Wednesday in Englewood.

The collision took place at about 12:30 a.m. on Halsted Street.

According to the police, the CTA bus was traveling south on Halsted Street when an oncoming Chevrolet Suburban tried to turn in front of it at 74th Street. The bus crashed into the Suburban.

Due to the impact of the collision, the bus veered onto the sidewalk, taking a fire hydrant, a tree, and a bus shelter, as per the police

Five occupants on the bus were injured and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Suburban went to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

The driver was booked for failure to yield, and for driving without a license or insurance.
