At approximately 11 am on April 26th, John Burgess, 85, of Evergreen, AL, Richard Dark, 58, of Chesterfield, MO, and Russell David, 50, of Gretna, LA, were all injured in a large multi-car accident on I-75 near mile marker 185. The incident occurred due, in part, to traffic congestion caused by an earlier accident. The accident began when Mr. Burgess failed to slow down and struck the vehicle in front of him, which in turn struck the vehicle in front of it, and so on until 5 vehicles total became involved. Fortunately Mr. Burgess suffered only minor injuries, though his 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe was damaged extensively. He was treated on the scene and released. Mr. David also received minor injuries. Mr. Dark was the most injured of the three, and had to be rushed by ambulance to St. Joseph Hospital.
