2 Drivers Killed, Juvenile Injured in 2-Vehicle Crash at 13th Street and Herrin Road

Herrin, Illinois (December 30, 2017) – According to a Herrin Police report, two people were killed and a juvenile passenger injured in a two-vehicle collision early Saturday in Herrin.

The deadly collision took place at about 1 a.m. Saturday, December 10, at the intersection of 13th Street and Herrin Road.

According to a Herrin Police, a vehicle was driven at a very high rate of speed and failed to stop at a stop sign and for police eventually involving in a serious collision with a second car at the intersection of 13th Street and Herrin Road.

The driver of the vehicle driven at a high rate of speed was declared deceased at the incident site, while the driver of the second vehicle was taken to Herrin Hospital where he was later declared dead, police said.

A report said the second car had a juvenile occupant who sustained injuries. The juvenile was reportedly receiving medication and is expected to survive.
