Aurora, Illinois (March 7, 2018) – According to a local news source, two Aurora residents were injured in a two-vehicle collision Tuesday morning in Aurora.

The collision happened at about 10:23 a.m. at West Galena Boulevard and North Highland Avenue.

Aurora Fire Department Capt. Jim Rhodes said that a tractor-trailer collided with a passenger car on the roadway.

Due to the impact of the collision, the truck leaked gallons of diesel fuel into the Fox River. However, the spill did not endanger drinking water, according to the report from the fire department.

According to the officials, two Aurora residents, a 24-year-old man, and a 25-year-old woman sustained minor injuries and were both transported to an area hospital for treatment. The truck driver, a 55-year-old man from Long Point, declined medical treatment.
