Michael Proctor, Taylor Buzzard, and Kathryn Brelsfoard Injured in Head-On Collision on Illinois Route 128 in Effingham County
Effingham County, Illinois (March 1, 2018) – According to a local news source, three people were injured in a head-on collision in Effingham County on Monday evening.
The collision occurred at about 5:00 p.m. February 26, on Illinois Route 128 near 1000th Avenue in Mound Township.
According to a report from Effingham County Sheriff’s Office, 22-year-old Michael Proctor of Decatur was driving a truck on the roadway when for unknown reasons, the truck crossed the center line and collided head-on with a vehicle driven by 23-year old Taylor Buzzard of St. Elmo
The impact of the collision sent both vehicles off the roadway and into a ditch.
Proctor and Buzzard sustained injuries and were taken to HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
A passenger in one of the vehicles, Kathryn Brelsfoard of Decatur, was also injured and was taken to HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Proctor was booked for improper lane usage.
An investigation is ongoing.
