Alonzo Barrientos, 18, Seriously Injured in Crash Involving Train on Washington Avenue in Purdy
Purdy, Illinois (January 20, 2018) – A male teenager was airlifted to a hospital following a collision with a train Friday afternoon in Purdy, Barry County, according to a Missouri State Patrol.
The crash took place at about 12:55 p.m. Friday, January 19, on Washington Avenue in Purdy.
According to the state patrol, 18-year-old Alonzo Barrientos, of Purdy was driving a pickup truck eastbound at a crossing on Washington Avenue when he failed to yield to a southbound Arkansas & Missouri Railroad train. The train the struck Barrientos car.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said that Barrientos suffered serious injuries and was flown to Mercy Hospital Springfield for treatment.
