Chanler Wood, 19, Killed in Fatal 2-Car Crash on MacArthur Drive in Webb City
Webb City, Missouri (December 28, 2017) – A fatal two-vehicle collision late Wednesday night in Webb City claimed a life of a 19-year-old Joplin man, according to Webb City Police Department.
The deadly crash took place at about 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, on MacArthur Drive (MO-171) near Powell Drive in Webb City.
According to a report, a Subaru Impreza, driven by a 21-year-old Joplin man was headed westbound at a high rate of speed when it struck an eastbound 2009 Honda Pilot driven by a 42-year-old driver from Webb City, which was attempting to turn north on Powell Drive at the time of the crash.
Police said both drivers and two passengers, a 21-year-old and 19-year-old Chanler Wood in the Subaru Impreza, were transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
Police said Wood later died of his injuries at the hospital.
The four victims were not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, police said.
No further details regarding the identity and the condition of the other victims were available.
The deadly wreck remained under investigation.
