Two Officers and Indiana Man Injured in Orland Park Collision on 151st Street
Orland Park, Illinois (February 27, 2018) – Three people, including two officers were hospitalized following a two-vehicle collision early Tuesday morning in in southwest suburban Orland Park.
The accident took place at around 12:35 a.m. on 151st Street.
According to the police, two officers were traveling eastbound in a marked squad car when the car slowed down to turn at 82nd Avenue and was rear-ended but a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu which was also driven on 151st Street by 36-year-old Maurice M. Williams of Hammond, Indiana.
Williams was cited for driving under the influence of drugs, resisting a police officer, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia and also for failure to reduce speed to avoid accident police said.
Williams was also cited for violating a driver’s license restriction that required him to only drive during daylight hours because of a traffic offense, the report said.
