On Monday, September 10, Catherine Hale, Scott Pals, and Kelly Pals were all injured–Ms. Hale badly–in a traffic accident on Shelby County Road. Terry Nasun was also involved in the incident, though they suffered only property damage and no actual physical harm.
The accident occurred at around 8:30 PM when Catherine Hale, a 51-year old resident of Shelbyville, crossed over the center line and struck the vehicle Mr. Prasun was traveling in, before also striking the vehicle Scott and Kelly Pals were travelling in. All three vehicles were forced off the road, and all three suffered significant damage.
According to the official crash report, Ms. Hale, however, suffered serious injury and had to be rushed to an area hospital for life-saving medical intervention. Scott and Kelly Pals were both also transported to a nearby hospital as a precautionary measure.
All parties appear to have been wearing their safety belts at the time of the incident.
All of the vehicles involved suffered significant damage and had to be towed from the scene. No other drivers or occupants were involved.
Ms. Hale was cited for improper lane usage.
