On Saturday, September 8, 60-year old Ricky Lyons and his 57-year old passenger, Sandy Lyons, were both involved in a multi-vehicle accident on Highway 90, 6 miles east of Jane, in McDonald county.
The accident occurred at approximately 6 PM when 56-year old Thomas M. Edsell, of Neosho, apparently lost control of his 2004 Ford Van while attempting to negotiate a curve in the road. This caused Mr. Edsell to accidentally cross over the center line, striking the Lyons family vehicle head-on in the process.
According to the official crash report, the Lyons both suffered significant injury and had to be transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital for further observation and treatment. All parties were wearing their safety belts at the time of the crash, and both Lyons were later released into their own care.
No other drivers or occupants were injured in the accident.
