Reckless Driver Crashes into Another Vehicle, Kills 2 at 13th Street and Herrin Road
Herrin, Illinois (January 2, 2018) – A reckless driver caused a collision that left two people dead early Saturday morning in Herrin, according to ISP.
The accident took place at around 1 a.m. Saturday, December 30, at the intersection of 13th Street and Herrin Road.
Police said an erratic driver was driving at a high rate of speed and running red lights. The driver failed to stop for police and crashed into a second vehicle at the intersection.
That driver died at the scene of the crash.
The second driver was later pronounced deceased at Herrin Hospital.
A minor in the second vehicle was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Illinois State Police Department is investigating the crash.
