One killed and two injured in Bates County crash

On July 175th at approximately 11:30 am, Shelby Sloan, 25, of Neosho, MO, Gerald Gilliland, 74, of Adrian, MO, and William Jameson, 64, also of Adrian, MO, were involved in an accident that occurred on I-49 south of Route C.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Mr. Gilliland’s vehicle was involved in the accident when another vehicle merged into and struck the vehicle occupied by Ms. Sloan causing it to spin out of control and cross the median.

Mr. Gilliland attempted to avoid the crash and drove his vehicle into the median and in doing so struck the vehicle Ms. Sloan was in. Mr. Gilliland was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the county hospital by Dr. Taylor at 12:07 pm.

Ms. Sloan suffered moderate injuries and Mr. Jameson suffered serious injuries. Both were transported to area hospitals to be treated for their injuries.

It is always unfortunate when a traffic accident ends in the loss of a life. We at the law offices of Kevin J. Roach extend our sincerest condolences to the family and friends of the parties involved.

Wrongful Death Claims

The Law offices of Kevin J. Roach is a serious injury and wrongful death firm that handles wrongful death cases throughout the state of Missouri.

As a Missouri wrongful death law firm we understand that a family member who has lost a loved one will be experiencing many emotions.  When you contact our firm we will guide you through every step of the legal process and fight for the legal rights of your loved ones.

Our law firm understands that no amount of monetary compensation will bring back your loved one, but we also strongly believe that people must be held accountable for their actions.  Additionally, the money recovered from a Illinois wrongful death lawsuit can assist with any outstanding medical expenses, funeral costs, as well as income replacement if the deceased was the primary income earner.

There are also statutes of limitations within each state that determine how much time you have to file the wrongful death claim. In Missouri, a wrongful death claim can be filed anytime up to three years after the death of the family member.

We can’t bring back your love one but we can help protect your rights and ensure the best possible outcome.  Call today for a free consultation (866) 519-0085
