Boone County, Missouri (January 26, 2018) – A 55-year-old Columbia man suffered serious injuries in a collision involving three vehicles on Tuesday morning in Boone County, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at around 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 23, on U.S. 63 at Tom Bass Road.

Benjamin J. Struempth, 25, of Jefferson City was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Impala southbound on U.S. 63 when he failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of Tom Bass Road and crashed into the rear of an eastbound 2009 Toyota Corolla, driven by Michele D. Baumer, 55, of Columbia.

The impact pushed the Toyota into the path of a northbound 2018 Kenworth 310 driven by Aaron J. Looten, 27, of Henley.

Baumer was transported to University Hospital with serious injuries.

No one else was hurt.

The Toyota and the Chevrolet were towed by Slate Towing with total damage.

The truck was towed by I-70 Towing with moderate damage.
