On Sunday, September 23, James Gallipo, a 48-year old resident of Sparta, was badly injured in a car accident on MO-14 in Christian county.
The accident occurred at approximately 4:50 PM when Ethan Robinson, 27, of Galena, struck the vehicle Mr. Gallipo was riding in as a passenger from behind as he sat waiting to execute a turn. Both vehicles suffered significant damage, and both had to be towed from the scene by a local wrecker service.
According to the official crash report Mr. Gallipo suffered moderate injury and had to be transported to Cox South Hospital via the Christian county ambulance service for further observation and treatment. Neither Adija Gallipo, the driver of the vehicle Mr. Gallipo was riding in, nor Mr. Robinson, were hurt in the incident.
All parties are believed to have been wearing their safety belts at the time of the accident.
No criminal charges have been brought against either party.
