Augstin Perez ID’d as Truck Driver Killed in Dan Ryan Expressway Crash on I-94
Chicago, Illinois (March 3, 2018) – The truck driver who was killed in a crash early Friday morning on the Dan Ryan Expressway has been identified as 32-year-old Augstin Perez of Berwyn, authorities said.
The deadly collision took place at around 5 a.m. Friday, March 1, on I-94 near 31st Street.
According to Illinois State Police, Perez’s white 2000 Freightliner truck tractor southbound on I-94 at when he stopped on the shoulder near 31st Street.
Perez then reportedly got out of the truck when he was hit by another truck in the far right lane.
Authorities said Perez was declared deceased at the scene.
The other driver was transported to Mercy Hospital, police said.
