Lakemoor Man Alan Bern Killed in Wauconda Township Car Crash on Route 120
Wauconda Township, Illinois (December 27, 2017) – A Lakemoor man was killed in a car crash on the night of Christmas Eve in Lake County.
According to Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the two-vehicle collision occurred at around 10:55 p.m. on Sunday, December 24 near Route 120 and Fisher Road.
Deputies said Alan Bern, 33, of Lakemoor was behind the wheels of a Ford Taurus traveling eastbound on Route 120 when he lost control and the vehicle slid into the westbound lanes. The Ford was struck by a Nissan Rogue driven by a 58-year-old McHenry woman.
Bern, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the Nissan was transported to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
