Hey there first name,
I hope you had a safe and enjoyable Labor Day weekend. I'm checking in to share recent results, introduce new members of the team, and share some insight on the different types of insurance coverage.
When you purchase a new vehicle, shop around for better rates, or start a brand new policy, you might have questions about the types of coverage and the right coverage for you. We understand how confusing that can be, and we want to help. Here’s a quick overview of common insurance coverages, what they mean, and whether you should consider adding them to your policy.
Liability coverage exists to cover the cost of another person's injuries or property damage if you cause an accident. Missouri requires a minimum coverage of $25,000 per person and $50,000 per accident for bodily injury, and $25,000 per accident for property damage. You should also consider increasing these coverage amounts, as you could potentially be liable for higher damages than these minimums can cover if you cause a crash.
Uninsured Motorist Coverage
Uninsured motorist insurance can help you pay medical bills, property damage, and other losses in the event you are hit by a driver who does not carry insurance, or even in a hit-and-run crash. Missouri drivers are required to carry a minimum of $25,000 per person and $50,000 per accident for bodily injury. This is another coverage you might consider increasing, as the $25,000 minimum coverage may not fully cover your damages caused by an uninsured motorist.
Underinsured Motorist Coverage
Underinsured motorist coverage differs from uninsured motorist coverage. It protects you and pays for damages if the at-fault driver has insurance, but their liability limits do not cover your resulting damages. This kind of coverage is optional in Missouri, but we encourage you to add it to your policy to protect yourself in case of an accident.
Medical Payments Coverage
Medical payments coverage helps cover medical costs if you, your passengers, or family members driving the insured vehicle are injured in an accident, regardless of fault.
Comprehensive coverage covers damage to your vehicle caused by non-collisions such as theft, vandalism, floods, hail, tree branches, flying debris, deer and other animals, or vehicle fires. It is generally optional coverage and includes a deductible, but may be required if you finance or lease your car.
Collision coverage helps pay to repair or replace your vehicle, minus your deductible, if it is damaged in a crash with another vehicle or in a single-car accident. Collision coverage may be required if you finance or lease your car.

This $115,000 combined settlement was secured for our clients who were rear-ended in a multi-vehicle crash on I-270 in St. Louis County. Our client had slowed for traffic congestion on the interstate when they were struck from behind by another driver who failed to stop in time. The force of the impact also pushed our clients' vehicle into the vehicle in front of them.
Both clients were treated on-scene and later returned to the emergency room. Each client endured pain in their back, neck, and hips, were diagnosed with multiple herniated discs, and required physical therapy. This settlement ensures they are properly compensated for their treatment and pain they endured due to the crash.

We recently visited with Tim and Kasey at KSHE95 and 92.3 WIL to say hi and record some new spots for the radio. We made sure to take a few photos while we were there. We enjoy working with our local radio personalities and appreciate their efforts that help us reach more of the people we serve. You might hear your lawyer on the air next time you tune in to these stations.
