St. Louis Man William Pearson Killed in Crash at Highway 40 and Highway 94
Weldon Spring, Missouri (January 11, 2018) – One man was killed in a crash in Weldon Spring Tuesday afternoon, Missouri Highway Patrol said.
The crash happened at about 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, at Highway 40 and Highway 94.
According to Missouri Highway Patrol, Joshua Freise was driving a 2017 Ford F250 pickup westbound on the Interstate when he suffered a medical emergency.
The Ford pickup hit a car on the Interstate and then proceeded to the exit ramp at Highway 94, smashing into several other vehicles that were stopped at a traffic signal.
The pickup overturned and came to a rest on an embankment on the roadside.
The pickup hit a total of five vehicles and debris from the wreck hit the sixth one.
A 29-year-old St. Louis man, William C. Pearson was in one of the stopped cars, a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze when Freise’s Pickup struck the left side of his car. Pearson died from injuries sustained in the crash.
A 47-year-old St. Peters man, Anthony Catalano, who was in a 1997 GMZ 1500 pickup that was also struck, received moderate injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital St. Louis for treatment.
The crash remains under investigation.
