William Files Injured in 3-Vehicle Crash on I-55 in Jefferson County
Jefferson County, Missouri (February 25, 2018) – A 60-year-old man was taken to a hospital late Friday night after a multi-vehicle collision in Jefferson County, according to a report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The accident happened at around 11:50 p.m. Friday, February 23, on Interstate 55 north of Imperial Main Street.
A 2011 Nissan Rogue was heading south on I-55 when the driver drifted leftwards in an attempt to avoid a vehicle in front, that had made a sudden change of lane. The Nissan traveled off the left shoulder of the roadway and crashed into a concrete barrier.
The Nissan then slid back onto Lane 2 of southbound Interstate 5 and struck the left back tire of a 2018 Freightliner, which caused it again to travel off the left side, struck the barrier and overturned, coming to a rest on its roof in Lane 1.
A 2007 Chevrolet Malibu then crashed into the overturned vehicle.
The driver of the Nissan, William D. Files, 60, of Pevely, suffered moderate injuries and was taken to St. Anthony’s Medical Center.
The Nissan was towed by Ive’s Towing with total damage.
No other injuries were reported.
