Walter Coppage and Charles Noel Injured in 2-Vehicle Crash on I-470 in Jackson County

Jackson County, Missouri (January 12, 2018) – Two people were transported to a hospital following a crash between two vehicles on Thursday evening in Jackson County.

According to a report by the MHSP, the vehicles collided at around 7:25 p.m. Thursday, January 11, on Interstate 470 at Mile Marker 5.8.

A 2007 Toyota Camry traveling eastbound on I-470 rear-ended a 2013 Hyundai Tucson, causing both vehicles to veer off the roadway and struck the median concrete wall.

The driver of the Toyota, Walter A. Coppage, 42, of Kansas City, was not wearing his seatbelt and suffered moderate injuries.

The driver of the Hyundai was identified as Charles H. Noel, 57, of Lebanon, Missouri. He was wearing his seatbelt and sustained minor injuries in the accident.

Both drivers were taken to St. Lukes Hospital for treatment.

The vehicles were towed from the scene by Elite Tow.
