Cape Girardeau, Missouri (February 11, 2018) – A head-on collision between two trucks sent two people to a hospital late Saturday night in Cape Girardeau.

According to a news release by the MSHP, the crash happened on Missouri 34 approximately three miles west of Jackson at around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, February 10.

Troopers said a 2016 Ford Fusion was traveling eastbound on MO-34 when the driver, 22-year-old Tamal D. McMorris of St. Louis, drifted into the path of oncoming traffic and collided with a 1984 GMC truck, driven by 16-year-old Landon R. Carlton of Jackson.

Both McMorris and Carlton were wearing their safety belts and were taken to Saint Francis Medical Center with moderate injuries.

No other injuries were reported.

Both vehicles were totaled.
