Steven Mayer, 26, Killed in Pedestrian Crash at Kansas Expressway in Springfield
Springfield, Missouri (December 26, 2017) – A pedestrian was fatally struck while walking along the road early Sunday morning in Springfield, police said.
The deadly collision took place on Sunday, December 24, at the intersection of Kansa Expressway from Grand to Mt. Vernon.
According to a police report, 26-year-old Steven Mayer, of Fair Grove, was struck by a vehicle while walking along the road.
Mayer was declared dead at the incident site, police said.
The incident reportedly shut down all northbound lanes on Kansas Expressway from Grand to Mt. Vernon for several hours.
The cause of the fatal pedestrian crash remained unclear.
