Six People Injured in Englewood CTA Bus Crash on Halsted Street

Englewood, Illinois (March 7, 2018) – Six people were injured when a CTA bus collided with an SUV early Wednesday in Englewood.

According to a local news source, the collision occurred at about 12:30 a.m. on Halsted Street.

A CTA bus was reportedly traveling southbound on Halsted Street when an oncoming Chevrolet Suburban tried to turn in front of it at 74th Street.

The bus diver could not avoid a collision and crashed into the Suburban.

Due to the impact of the collision, the bus drifted off the roadway where it struck a fire hydrant, a tree and a bus shelter.

Five occupants on the bus were injured in the collision and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Suburban was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

An investigation is underway.
