Shirley Mata, Donna Dickey Injured in Clay County Vehicle Wreck on I-35

Clay County, Missouri (February 1, 2018) – Two drivers were injured in an accident where their vehicles collided on a Clay County road on Tuesday afternoon, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The incident happened on Interstate 35 at Mile Marker 16.6 around 4:20 p.m. Tuesday, January 30.

MSHP said Donna M. Dickey, 73, of Excelsior Springs, was driving a 2017 Chevrolet northbound on I-35 when she slowed down for traffic and was rear-ended by a 2006 Ford Explorer that was attempting to overtake.

Dickey and the driver of the Explorer, Shirley A. Mata, 57, of Kearney, were both treated for minor injuries at Liberty Hospital.

Troopers said both drivers were wearing their safety belts.
