Sheirlarae Hickernell , Jeremiah Hickernell and Candice Whitlock Injured in Phelps County Crash on I-44
Phelps County, Missouri (February 6, 2018) – Three people were on Sunday afternoon injured in a collision involving a tractor-trailer and two cars in Phelps County, according to Patrol Troopers.
The accident happened at around 3:20 p.m. Sunday, February 4, on Interstate 44 at Mile Marker 186.2
A 1996 Chevrolet Corsica was heading east on I-44 when it was rear-ended by a 2011 International tractor-trailer, driven by Mustafa A. Salaam, 32, of Columbus, Oh.
The force of the crash pushed the Corsica into the back of a 2016 Ford F-250 pickup, driven by Gregory R. Barnes, 60, of Waco, Texas.
The driver of the Chevrolet, Sheirlarae Hickernell, 44, of St. Robert was seriously hurt. His passengers, Jeremiah Hickernell, 15, and Candice Whitlock, 22, all of St. Robert, suffered minor injuries. They were transported to Phelps County Regional Medical Center Rolla.
No other injuries were reported.
The ford and the tractor-trailer sustained minor damage and were driven from the scene.
The Chevrolet was totaled.
