Rita Mauer, Shelly Lincoln Injured in 3-Vehicle Crash on US-54 in Audrain County

Audrain County, Missouri (December 28, 2017) – Two women were injured Wednesday morning in a multi-vehicle crash in Audrain County, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol traffic incident log.

The three-car crash took place at about 6:47 a.m. on US-54 at Route BB.

Missouri State Highway Patrol said a 2016 Nissan Frontier, driven by Rita L. Mauler, 60, of Bellflower, MO, was eastbound when it crossed US-54 in front of a 2005 Kia Sportage, driven by Stephen R. Lomelino, 44, of Laddonia, MO.

The Kia Sportage struck the passenger door of the Nissan, forcing the Nissan into the left front of a 2016 Hyundai Elantra, which was stopped at a stop sign.

Rita sustained serious injuries and was transported by Audrain Ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia.

A passenger in the Kia Sportage, Shelly A. Lincoln, sustained moderate injuries and also taken to University Hospital.

The Kia and Nissan sustained extensive damage in the crash while the Elantra had moderate damage. All three vehicles were towed away from the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
