Waterman Woman Rachel Jimenez Dies after DeKalb Collision at Peace Road and Pleasant Street
DeKalb, Illinois (February 2, 2018) – A 40-year-old woman has succumbed to injuries Friday morning following a collision involving two vehicles on last month in DeKalb, a county coroner said.
The deadly collision took place on Wednesday, January 24, near the intersection of Peace Road and Pleasant in DeKalb.
According to the Winnebago County Coroner, 40-year-old Rachel Jimenez, of Waterman, and her son Isaac were traveling in a Toyota near DeKalb Taylor Municipal Airport when a vehicle, driven by Kevin Taylor, 48, of Maple Park, lost control and struck the Toyota head-on.
Jimenez was transported to OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center following the collision near Peace Road and Pleasant Street in DeKalb. Jimenez reportedly sustained injuries to the head and spinal.
Taylor was also transported to an area hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
No citation has been issued in the crash, authorities said.
