One Dead, One Seriously Injured in Head-on Crash on Route B in Boone County
Boone County, Missouri (December 4, 2017) – One person was killed and another was seriously injured in a head-on crash in Boone County Monday morning, authorities said.
The fatal crash took place just before 6 a.m. on Route B.
According to Boone County firefighters, a red truck was traveling northbound on Route B when, for some reason, it crossed into oncoming traffic lanes and crashed head-on into a white car.
Authorities said the driver of the white car suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the victim was not immediately released pending family notification.
The truck driver became trapped had to be extricated before being transported to University Hospital with serious injuries.
No additional information regarding the crash was provided.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash to determine the cause.
