Motorist Injured in 2-Vehicle Crash on I-57 in Union County
Union County, Illinois (January 3, 2018) – A collision between a semi-truck and an SUV on Tuesday in Union County sent one person to a hospital, police said.
The crash took place at about 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, January 2, on 1-57 at mile marker 38 in Union County.
An investigation report showed that the SUV was driving on the right shoulder when it entered into the southbound driving lane, coming into the path of the semi-truck. The semi then crashed into the rear of the SUV.
Illinois State Police said the driver of the SUV was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
