Woman Killed and 2 Hurt in Berwyn Crash on Ogden Avenue
Berwyn, Illinois (March 6, 2018) — A 25-year-old single mother was fatally injured following a collision with a speeding driver early Tuesday morning in west suburban Berwyn, according to Berwyn at Police.
The fatal crash took place at around 3 a.m. on Ogden Avenue near Ridgeland Avenue.
According to the police, a Nissan was driven by a 29-year-old man at a higher rate of speed east on Ogden Avenue near Ridgeland Avenue when the driver, for unknown reasons crossed the center line and crashed into a westbound Pontiac head-on.
The 25-year-old female driver of the Pontiac who is a mother of a 6-year-old boy was declared deceased at the scene, police said.
The driver of the Nissan and his male passenger were both transported to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
A Sobriety test is expected to be done on a blood sample of the driver of the Nissan, police said.
Details regarding the identity of the victim were not immediately available.
